I'm interested in seeing what would happen if I started to intentionally attempt to see an emerging church started where we live in Elgin. Elgin is home to mega-size, fundamentalist, Northwest Bible Baptist Church. It's also home to mega-church Bible preacher, James MacDonald's church, Harvest Bible Chapel. Judson College, a Christian college is in Elgin, and Team International also has training facilities here.
Elgin does have its share of churches.
To plant an emerging church here would be a different calling than the ones currently in Elgin.
I don't have a nucleus. But I can begin to dream and begin to talk about it and see if there is an interest out in this area as I get the word out. I could see men and women partnering together in friendships for the kingdom of God in this city. I'd love see a gathering of friendships forming for the sake of the kingdom and offering the city of Elgin an entirely different opportunity to do church in this northwest suburb of Chicago. I'm not necessarily a church planter, but I do have an entrepreneurial streak in me.
